Walkin, Walkin, Walkin....
I just walked 3/4 of a mile in 17:49. Not to bad for an out of shape, morbidly obese 30 year old. I am going to make it my goal to walk every day this week and walk when I go to my brother-in-laws this weekend. I'd like to be up to a full mile in 20-22 minutes by next week. I'm hoping that is a reasonable goal and not too ambitious. I wasn't exactly great with my food today. I had a bowl of cheerios this morning for breakfast, a half of an egg salad sandwich on a pita and for dinner I had a couple pieces of bread, a stuffed pepper and a piece of carrot cake that I made for my Father's birthday. It was really good, but it was too much. I can't believe in the past few weeks how well things have been going. I've given up all soda, I drink at least 64 oz. of water a day if not more, I eat breakfast now, which is good in the long run and I try to have frozen entrees for both lunch and dinner everyday. Saturday wasn't a very good day, I had a huge bowl of cheerios for breakfast, a McDonald's chicken sandwich with fries for lunch and some Prime Rib and Fried Clams for dinner. I didn't snack in between, but at least I didn't eat all of my dinner that was served as it was a huge, huge portion. I was bad though and had a piece of Coconut Cream pie for dessert. I won't be having any desserts this week and no extra snacking between meals. I have to get weighed in at 4:30 on Thursday, just before we leave for Connecticut. I can honestly say that I didn't eat as much as I could have in the past and I am starting to be satisfied with smaller portions. I just realized that today is the first day of April and I start all my Pre-op appointments next month, my how time flies!!
